Accessibility

The site aims to meet WCAG 2.2 at level AA. This page says what that means here, and where it still falls short.

Settings you control

Open Settings from the header to choose light, dark or automatic theme, larger text, reduced sensory mode (no ambient motion or sound), and scholar mode, which keeps every citation visible. Choices are stored only in your browser.

Motion

If your system asks for reduced motion, or you turn on reduced sensory mode, scroll effects, the hero video, auto-advancing rings and camera moves stop; content appears in its final state. Nothing on the site flashes.

Sound

Sound is off by default and never starts on its own. Every sound is a labelled contemporary interpretation you choose to play.

Keyboard and screen readers

Every interactive diagram is made of buttons in a logical order, with names and live regions. Plans, models and dials have text equivalents beside them. Pages use landmarks, headings in order and a skip link. Hebrew is marked with its language and direction.

Colour and contrast

Text meets AA contrast in both themes. Source labels carry a name, an icon and a border pattern, so they never rely on colour alone.

Small screens

Every page is designed at phone width. Complex interactives switch to simpler layouts, and touch targets are at least 40 pixels.

Known limitations

The 3D model is visual; its information is repeated in the plan and the panel beside it. The globe and the rising-water scene are illustrations of information also given in text. If you find a barrier, it is a bug, and we want to fix it.
